遊戲商Gree 想靠併購翻身

日本社群遊戲公司Gree有鑒於營收步入連四季衰退，計劃擴大併購，以拓展社群遊戲外的市場版圖，趕上消費者轉向智慧手機遊戲的最新潮流。

Gree董事秋山仁表示：「我們已鎖定併購標的，希望藉此積極拓展新事業。」但他並未透露相關細節。

Gree上月合併舊金山和東京的遊戲開發中心，以加快遊戲應用程式（App）開發腳步並降低成本，同時將透過優退措施精簡人事9%。

隨著智慧手機的遊戲商機崛起，便宜、甚至免費的遊戲App躍升主流，使得Gree針對功能型手機設計的社群遊戲，銷售一落千丈。

Gree已連續三季營收下滑，本季恐怕也難以挽回頹勢，分析師預測，截至12月底止的當季營收可能下滑13%。該公司最快於明年2月推出新款App。

Gree正追隨另一日本遊戲商DeNA的腳步，向遊戲產業外尋覓併購機會，並趕上消費者轉向智慧手機遊戲的最新潮流。

不過，如果Gree退出遊戲平台事業，並轉型成為遊戲開發商，可能要付出利潤率大幅萎縮的昂貴代價，而且智慧手機遊戲市場競爭愈來愈激烈，轉型之路料將崎嶇難行。
