三星(Samsung)全球首款曲型智慧機「Galaxy Round」(見附圖)話題十足，不過似乎未能轉化成買氣。據報該款智慧機需求疲軟，電信商已祭出優惠衝銷量。

華爾街日報部落格報導，鮮京電信(SK Telecom)是南韓唯一銷售Galaxy Round的電信商。該公司促銷曲型智慧機，表示若同時購買Galaxy Round和Galaxy Gear智慧手錶，可折扣10萬-15萬韓圜(95-142美元)。Round空機價為108.9萬韓圜、Gear未綁約價為39.6萬韓圜。

intomobile 11月底引述MobileWorldLive和BusinessKorea報導，Galaxy Round 10月在南韓開賣以來，銷量不到1萬支，首批5萬支售完後，將不再生產。三星搶賣Galaxy Round的目的，不是打造新產品和暢銷的Galaxy Note III打對台，而是要奪下全球第一家的曲型智慧機生產商名號。

業界觀察家表示，三星尚未能量產曲型電池，Galaxy Round因此中端較厚，另外曲型螢幕也未臻完美，需要額外的強化玻璃，整體過於笨重。

然而可撓螢幕似乎已成未來趨勢。研調機構IHS先前預期，柔性螢幕需求未來7年將出現驚人成長：2013到2020年間，出貨量會跳增近250倍，預估柔性螢幕的全球出貨量將從2013年的320萬台，增至2020年的7.92億台。
