MLB／建仔好投 超乎藍鳥教頭預期

洋基認為王建民還不足以站穩大聯盟的談話言猶在耳，但今天藍鳥總教練吉本斯 (John Gibbons) 說的是：「他給了我們很大的幫助！」

對輪值需求孔急的藍鳥來說，找來王建民就像一場不會輸的賭注，投得好算藍鳥賺到，投不好，頂多再換個人來試試，但王建民這一仗，已經讓藍鳥成了贏家。

儘管有連兩年19勝為資歷，王建民今天的表現還是令吉本斯感到驚艷，他說：「坦白跟你們說，他投得比我預期的好太多了。」

相對於洋基對於建仔的挑三揀四，吉本斯此役賽後對王建民讚不絕口，「這是他的機會，而他也把握住了，他很強壯也很有信心，而他過往也確實在大聯盟寫下許多成功。」吉本斯說：「我必須向他脫帽致敬。」
